I am an Artist and a mother, and I take both professions seriously, anything else I do is a bonus.
I have never been interested in choosing between making and thinking. For me, the two have always belonged together. Whether I am creating a beaded collar, writing an essay, interviewing an artist, or exploring the history behind a work of art, I am driven by the same question: What does this reveal about who we are?
Naanmade is the home of that exploration. Here, wearable art, mixed media, writing, and cultural inquiry exist side by side, each informing the other. Some works are meant to be worn. Others are meant to be read, contemplated, or lived with. Together they form an ongoing conversation about creativity, identity, memory, and the many ways we make meaning of our lives.
I create one-of-a-kind works that draw from both traditional craftsmanship and contemporary ideas, often incorporating unexpected materials and techniques. Alongside my studio practice, I write about art and culture, document the lives of artists, and reflect on the experiences that shape us as human beings. Rather than separating these pursuits, I see them as different expressions of the same curiosity.
Whether you’ve come here to read, to discover an artist, to explore a piece of wearable art, or simply to linger for a while, welcome. I hope you leave with a deeper appreciation for creativity—not only as something we admire, but as something that helps us understand ourselves, one another, and the world we share.
